Our Global Footprint

We are the world’s largest platform for the distribution of savings and insurance products. Over eight decades the number of countries in which we have operations has grown to 54 and we hold top five positions in the majority of these markets.

We have a long history of responding to local and regional change by establishing successful operations in new markets: the post-war recovery of Japan and the opening of the Middle East to foreign investment in the 1950s; the end of the Cold War and the emergence of Eastern Europe in the 80s and 90s; liberalisation within the European Union. Our longstanding presence in these markets, many of which are closed to new entrants, makes our global operation very difficult to replicate. Our readiness to take on opportunities presented by today’s changes will continue to differentiate us.
